  What Solution did Esther have for the jealousy and hatred she felt? can you understand why she acted as she did?

 The solution that Esther had to calm her jealousy after overhearing the conversation between father Paul and Laurence was to kill her lovely playmate and childhood friend as a way of payback for betraying her and making her be away from her family for so long, so that way she would be punishing father Paul and the other girl wasn't going to marry Laurence.
  As a women i can say that when once we feel betray and lied at for someone we love, we're capable of doing things that we might regret in the future. By saying this i'm not justifying that what she did was right because it was totally wrong because we should not take a human's life in our hands just because we feel betrayed by them. But what we should do is move on and leave everything behind no matter how much it will hurts to see the person we love being happy with someone else, because life keeps going and we will find someone else who will love us for who we are not for who they want us to be. Hence, all she had to do was go back to her village and be happy with her family instead of taking Laurence's life in her hands
